On Monday, former Midvaal mayor Bongani Baloyi announced his departure from the Democratic Alliance (DA) on social media.

The actor indicated on Twitter that it was his decision, although he did not elaborate.

Bongani stated in his tweet that it has been an incredible 14 years and that he is grateful for the chance.

“Today marks the conclusion of my experience with the @Our DA. It’s been an incredible 14 years that I’ll never forget, and I’ll always be thankful to the DA for their support and chances. I step away from my own agency. “It’s not because I’m being cleansed or anything,” the 34-year-old former Midvaal mayor said on Twitter.
It’s unclear what Baloyi will do, but his tweets have sparked speculation that he would join actions, a new child on the block.

I depart on my own time and terms, with a spotless record.”
